Summer Concerts: Who's On Tour This Summer

By Lorena Roberts on June 29, 2018

Attending music festivals and summer concerts is all the rage among college students these days. You might be feeling left out, or you have a FOMO (fear of missing out), so you’re on the hunt for some concerts to attend while you’re free from studying for exams and writing papers. Depending on what kind of music you’re into, you’ll be interested in going to see some of your favorites.

Before you get bogged down in the list of hundreds of concerts you want to see live, I’d suggest prioritizing them. How much money do you have to spend on summer concert tickets? How many vacation days from work do you have to “spend?” Think about concerts you can see with other people (trust me, that’s a lot more fun than going alone!). Depending on how you prioritize your list and how much money you have to spend, you could probably jam-pack your entire summer seeing concerts. There’s a lot going on in 2018. Lots of life to be lived.

Here’s a list of some major concerts happening this summer in case you’re looking to fill your #SummerDaze with some exciting stuff.

If country music happens to be your style…

Shania Now is a tour you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re a die-hard Shania fan or you’re just looking to get your groove on, Shania is hitting the road for the first time in three years. She’s been named the top-selling female country artist of all time, so if you haven’t seen her in concert — now is the time. You won’t want to miss out on what she has to offer her audience.

The Rascal Flatts are also hitting the road this summer, ending in Washington state at the end of September. You have plenty of time to snag some tickets before the end of summer break.

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are on tour together, performing their Soul2Soul playlist across the country. This tour wraps up on July 22nd in Sacremento, CA, so be sure to get your tickets soon!

Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker are tearing up stages across the country as they perform their tour entitled “Summer Plays On.”

The “Honkytonk Highway Tour” might be a good show to see if you’re an Alan Jackson fan. With only a few dates left, be sure to snag your tickets now.
Or if you’re a little more into the popular stuff:

The Foo Fighters, Imagine Dragons, the Dave Matthews Band, and Ed Sheeran are all touring this summer.

Maybe you’re hoping you can “Shake It Off” this summer. If that’s the case, check into Taylor Swift’s performance dates. According to Entertainment Weekly, Taylor has actually added shows to her tour schedule because of high demand. Whether she’ll be breaking out some of our old favorites or lighting up the stage with her newest songs, Taylor’s concert experience is like no other.

Harry Styles is also on tour this summer (in case you haven’t heard). The former One Direction member is now pursuing a career on his own (and doing quite well for himself). He’s touring through the middle of July, so you only have a few weeks left to get your trip squared away!

Adam Levine continues stardom this summer, touring with his band, Maroon 5. Pretend like they’ve spontaneously shown up at your wedding from your front row seat to their concert this summer and check yet another item off your bucket list.

If you’re on a budget this summer…

Check out StubHub. Owned by eBay, StubHub is an online marketplace for ticket exchange. However, be careful. Once you get on to find concert tickets, you’ll end up purchasing tickets to sporting events and theater shows, too!

Another option for purchasing tickets at a discounted price is through the website VividSeats. Though I can’t personally vouch for their legitimacy, they do list a 100% buyer guarantee on their website.

Think about carpooling with your friends to save money — especially if the concert is far away. Most of the time, concerts are more fun with your friends anyway!

Skip the souvenirs by ordering the T-shirt you really want online. No one will ever know whether you bought the T-shirt at the concert or afterward, so it’s probably not worth the $50 you’ll be paying for it at the live show.

No matter what you end up deciding to see this summer…

Make sure you take plenty of photos and post them all over social media. After all, if you didn’t take photos with your pals in the matching T-shirts you bought, did you really even go?
